Sustainability & Values

In the construction of our resorts, few trees were felled and minimal earthworks were carried out in the construction of our properties as we honor the natural geographical terrains of the sites. Recycled hardwoods or sustainably grown rubberwood were sourced for designs which are eco-friendly and low-impact.

Our villas were designed to accommodate trees, keeping many native species such as Bongor and Merambong (Scaevola Taccada), around the properties. Today, natural wildlife still plays an integral part of our surrounding, adding to the natural charm of our properties.

Values

We practise integrity in all that we do - cultivating kindness and respect, treating not just human beings but all living things, including the land which we live on with care. We encourage our people to find their passion and purpose, ultimately giving back to the community and Mother Earth.

In upholding the values above, we hope to provide our partners and guests with an enlightened perspective on nature, the environment and sustainable living as well as community engagement, encouraging positive long-term outlook and life-long learning.

Conservation efforts

Proudly home to three species of hornbills namely the Oriental Pied Hornbill, Great Hornbill and Wreathed Hornbill, Ambong Pool Villas and Ambong-Ambong Rainforest Retreats are magnificent spots for bird-watching in Langkawi. As suitable nesting trees are becoming increasingly hard for hornbills to find, we are encouraging more hornbills to nest safely on our property within man-made nesting boxes, in the efforts to preserve their presence in our environment.

Culture

At Ambong-Ambong, we welcome guests just like we welcome visiting close friends or family members, warm and genuine. Ambong-Ambong takes pride in a highly personalised level of service. It is our culture to treat both guests as well as our very own people with much kindness and respect as we understand they are the very pulse of our resort.

We listen to our guests and people, both in person and online, for feedback or just for chats, making them feel right at home. Communications are open and seamless as we encourage everyone to come together under our roof. We also build knowledge in fun ways through our wellness engagements.

Just as how Joan and Ahmad fell in love with Langkawi, we would love for everyone to have the taste of the island, culturally and experientially, within Ambong-Ambong.
